Terms and Conditions.
The Terms and Conditions as of 14 January, 2026, set out below apply to all wine experiences, corporate events, products, and services sold or run by Colby Wines, regardless of the venue.
General Terms and Conditions
Age Restrictions: It is against the law to sell or supply alcohol to anyone under 18 years of age in the UK. By placing an order or attending an event, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. Colby Wines operates a strict Challenge 25 policy and reserves the right to request valid photographic ID from any guest.
Securing Your Booking: No reservation is confirmed or held in our diary until the required deposit has been received in full. For all Private and Corporate Wine Experiences, a 50% deposit invoice is issued upon booking and is payable immediately upon receipt. Dates remain open to other competitive enquiries until this payment clears.
Final Balance: The remaining balance must be paid in full at least 14 days prior to the event date.
Guest Counts & Dietaries: Final guest numbers, allergies, and dietary requirements must be confirmed at least 7 days prior to the event. If your group size decreases within this 7-day period, the original invoiced balance remains payable to cover pre-ordered stock and specialist curation.
Responsible Drinking: All participants must consume alcohol responsibly. We actively provide spittoons at all events and strongly recommend that any attendees who are driving do not consume alcohol. Colby Wines is not liable or responsible for any individual who chooses to drive from the event.
Right of Refusal: We reserve the right to ask any person to leave an event if their behaviour is deemed dangerous, unacceptable, or disruptive to our staff or other guests.
Event Changes: We reserve the right to cancel, reschedule, or change the venue of any event due to unforeseen circumstances or circumstances entirely beyond our control (such as sudden venue closures or extreme weather).
Cancellation & Transfer Conditions
Because we block out specific dates exclusively for your private or corporate group and turn away other business, the following cancellation schedule applies strictly to all bookings:
More than 14 days prior to the event: Cancellations are permitted, subject to a £50 administration fee to cover processing and initial curation. The remainder of your deposit will be refunded.
Between 7 and 14 days prior to the event: A 50% cancellation fee (the full value of your deposit) applies. Alternatively, we offer flexible options to transfer your booking to a new alternative date, subject to availability.
Within 7 days of the event date: A 100% cancellation fee applies. No refunds or date transfers can be issued within this window.
Third-Party Providers & Partnerships
Colby Wines works exclusively with fully insured, premium partners (including independent private chefs). While we coordinate these partnerships seamlessly, Colby Wines is not legally liable for any independent operational failures or aspects of the event supplied directly by a third party.
